Hello awesome readers and welcome to Teaser Tuesday, a Meme, created by The Purple Booker, that wants you to add books to your TBR, or just share what you are currently reading. It is very easy to play along:
– Grab your current read
– Open to a random page
– Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
– Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.
This is a book I recently purchased after seeing someone talk about it on Twitter. This series is also being made into a TV show! The book is *drumroll*…
I’m really excited to read this book! I probably wont get to it until SciFi Month so to avoid spoilering myself I didn’t go too far in, I’ve flipped to page 35 and here are my teasers:
“Me and my thoughts in that small room, no escape outside.”
“I paced, recited equations, and was sure that if I didn’t die of thirst or starvation I’d die by fire from the currents I’d nervously created and discharged to keep myself busy.”
Amazon Blurb:
“Prepare to fall in love with Binti.” —Neil Gaiman
Winner of the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award for Best Novella!
Her name is Binti, and she is the first of the Himba people ever to be offered a place at Oomza University, the finest institution of higher learning in the galaxy. But to accept the offer will mean giving up her place in her family to travel between the stars among strangers who do not share her ways or respect her customs.
Knowledge comes at a cost, one that Binti is willing to pay, but her journey will not be easy. The world she seeks to enter has long warred with the Meduse, an alien race that has become the stuff of nightmares. Oomza University has wronged the Meduse, and Binti’s stellar travel will bring her within their deadly reach.
If Binti hopes to survive the legacy of a war not of her making, she will need both the gifts of her people and the wisdom enshrined within the University, itself — but first she has to make it there, alive.

I’ve heard good things about Binti but haven’t tried it yet. That’s cool that it’s being made into a TV show. Looks like it will be a good one. 🙂
I’m really looking forward to this one! I like to read before watching usually so I hope I’ll get that chance!
