Hello awesome reader. So as I’m sure you’ve surmised I’m joining the Beat the Backlist 2018 Challenge hosted by NovelKnight. At first I was hesitant to sign up because I worried I don’t read enough and I would let my team down. But because I so badly want to put a big dent in my TBR pile, with some books waiting as long as 4 years, this seemed like the perfect fit.
In 2017 I read and reviewed about 39 books. This year I would like to do much better. I anticipate having more time to read in 2018 so I’m setting a goal of at least 40 for this challenge and hopefully 48+ total books read and reviewed. Hopefully I’m not dreaming too big and life doesn’t slow me down again!
I went over my TBR and made a rough draft of 72 books to read in 2018 & 2019. I’ve cherry picked the books below from my list for a very rough TBR for this challenge. I’ll get to as many as I can. This list is numbered for counting sake but it is not in order:

Thanks to you I just added another challenge!
Ooh I see the sorting hat made you a Bard. We got a little friendly competition going there. 😉
Hey, we also have a couple books in common, that’s cool!
Right?! I was hoping for the same team, but alas the sorting hat thought otherwise! I have a few I might add to my list later — like all my BOTM books I haven’t read. 😹😹😹
We’re on the same team! Good luck teammate! I haven’t heard of most of these books so I might have to add even more books to my TBR.
Awesome!! Good luck to you too!
After looking at your post I think one you might be interested in is The Spirit Mage, but you’d have to read book 1, The Brothers Three (by Layton Green) first. It’s about 3 brothers and their friend who go on a dangerous adventure to a fantasy world. I think you’d like the assassin and the loyalty between the friends&brothers. I really enjoyed it so I’m looking forward to book 2!
Yay we’re on the same team <3 And wow all the books in your list are new to me so now my TBR has grown considerably. Good luck with the challenge 🙂 GO DRAGONS!!
Good luck to you too!
I’m on team Novel Knights but your blog looks pretty awesome. It’s cool to be able to connect with so many readers.
Indeed it is, and I’ve already found so many more great blogs to read, like yours for example 😉
This sounds great! I haven’t yet got to grips with any 2018 Reading Challenges — and this year I think I should… I need to get down to doing it at the weekend:)
Are you going to do any? This is my first year doing something like this but I think it’s just the motivation I need to tackle my ridiculous TBR pile. If you end up doing any, send me a link to your post!
I will! I haven’t yet decided — which is pathetic, isn’t it?
Not really. There are maybe too many good options. I know I keep seeing challenges that are tempting me, but I’m trying not to overwhelm myself haha
Thank you for those kind words — I don’t feel such a wuss:))
